How does the custom design process work?
How does the custom design process work?
Consultation: This is the first step and where we discuss the type of jewelry piece you’re looking for, the center stone, your preferred metal, ring size, and overall design. The consultation can be done through emails, texts, phone call, or a video call for you convenience.
Diamond sourcing: Marisa will sift through hundreds of loose lab diamonds to find the best 2-3 options to present to you. (You’ll never be shown a stone with a poor cut)
CAD approval: This is when you start to see your piece take shape. You’ll be sent the CAD photos/video for your approval. This step is when you can make any adjustments to the design before it goes into production (band width, prong style, hidden halo or not, or any other elements).
Production: Production begins only after you have given your final approval on the CAD design. Production typically takes around 3 weeks (perfection takes a little time, so please be patient). After production, the piece is shipped to Marisa for quality control and inspection before being sent to you. This is to ensure that every single piece is perfect (we don’t cut corners around here!).
Delivery: Marisa will ship the item within 1-2 business days via UPS 2-Day (FedEx also available upon request), fully insured, and with a signature required upon delivery. As soon as the shipping label is created, you’ll receive an email with your tracking number.

How should I care for my jewelry?
How should I care for my jewelry?
Jewelry Care
Your jewelry is made to be worn and enjoyed. A little care will help keep it looking beautiful for years to come.
Everyday Care
Fine jewelry is durable, but it isn’t indestructible. We recommend removing your jewelry before:
- Sleeping
- Showering or swimming
- Working out or playing sports
- Cleaning or using household chemicals
- Gardening or doing heavy work with your hands
- Applying lotions, perfumes, hairspray, or other beauty products
A good rule:
If you wouldn’t want your hands doing it with your ring on, take the ring off first.
Cleaning Your Jewelry
For most diamond and gemstone jewelry, gently clean your piece with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and at-home cleaning solutions unless you know they are safe for your specific gemstone. Some gemstones require special care and should not be placed in ultrasonic or steam cleaners. When in doubt, ask us before cleaning.
Storing Your Jewelry
Store pieces separately in a jewelry box, soft pouch, or individual compartment to prevent scratching and tangling.Diamonds are extremely hard and can scratch other diamonds, gemstones, and even metal—so giving each piece its own space is always a good idea.
Engagement Rings & Frequently Worn Rings
Your engagement ring may be an everyday piece, but that doesn’t mean it should be worn foreverything.
Remove your ring for activities that could put pressure on the setting or band, expose it to chemicals, or cause buildup underneath the stones. We also recommend having frequently worn rings professionally inspected periodically to make sure prongs, stones, and settings remain secure.
One Last Thing
Jewelry is meant to be worn—not kept in a box waiting for a special occasion. Wear it, enjoy it, and just give it a little TLC along the way.
Do you offer warranties or repairs?
Do you offer warranties or repairs?
We stand behind all of our pieces, and offer a one year warranty for any manufacturer defects. But if you’ve worked with us in the past, you already know we will take care of you!
The Good Stuff, Occasionally
I design the jewelry and create the emails. You can guess which one comes first.
